· Store separately from strong bases, aluminum metal, strong oxidizers
· Use explosion-proof equipment and tools
· Ground containers to prevent static accumulation
Fire Fighting:
· Non-flammable, but decomposes at high temperatures producing toxic fumes (phosgene, hydrogen chloride)
· Use water, foam, dry powder or CO2 to extinguish fire
· Firefighters must wear self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective gear
· Use water spray to cool exposed containers and prevent explosion
