- Melting Point: Begins losing water of hydration at 100 °C (212 °F); decomposes at 200 °C (392 °F) to form anhydrous magnesium sulfate; anhydrous form melts at 1124 °C (2055 °F)
- Boiling Point: No distinct boiling point; decomposes when heated to high temperatures

- Solubility: Highly soluble in water (90 g/100 mL at 20 °C; 600 g/L at 20 °C), very soluble in boiling water, slightly soluble in ethanol and glycerol, insoluble in diethyl ether

2. Chemical Properties (Stability & Reactivity)
- Stability: Chemically stable under normal temperature and pressure; prolonged exposure to dry air or heat causes dehydration, forming monohydrate or anhydrous magnesium sulfate; incompatible with strong oxidizing agents and alkaline substances
- Reactivity: Reacts with barium salts to form insoluble barium sulfate; does not undergo violent reactions with most common chemicals
