· Solubility: Slightly soluble in water, readily soluble in alcohols, ethers, ketones and other organic solvents

Chemical Properties:
· Contains carbon-carbon double bond, prone to polymerization
· Readily polymerizes under light, heat or peroxide action
· Can copolymerize with ethylene, vinyl chloride and other monomers
· Hydrolyzes to produce acetic acid and acetaldehyde

Safety Precautions

Flammability:
· Highly flammable liquid, vapor forms explosive mixtures with air
· Very low flash point (-8°C), extremely flammable
· Vapor heavier than air, may spread along ground
Health Hazards:
· Irritating to eyes, skin and respiratory tract
· Inhalation of high concentration vapor may cause headache, dizziness, nausea
· Long-term exposure may affect liver and kidney function
· Possibly carcinogenic (IARC Group 2B)
Handling Protection:
· Wear chemical safety goggles, respirator and anti-static clothing
· Use explosion-proof tools and equipment
· Ensure good ventilation in workplace, install flammable gas detectors
· Prohibit open flames, sparks and smoking
Storage & Transportation:
· Store in cool, well-ventilated explosion-proof area
· Keep containers tightly closed, use nitrogen protection
· Store separately from oxidizers, acids and alkalis
· Transport with flammable liquid hazard label
Emergency Treatment:
· Use sand or other non-combustible material to absorb spills
· Extinguish fire with foam, dry powder, CO₂ - do not use water jet
· Skin contact: Immediately wash with soap and water
· Eye contact: Immediately rinse with plenty of water and seek medical attention
