Basic Properties

Physical Properties:
· Appearance: White crystalline powder or granules
· Melting Point: Decomposes at 120°C
· Density: 1.98 g/cm³
· Solubility: Readily soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol
· Aqueous Solution: Weakly acidic
Chemical Properties:
· Strong oxidizing agent, reacts vigorously with reducing materials
· Decomposes when heated or catalyzed by silver ions releasing oxygen
· Aqueous solution has poor stability and gradually decomposes
· May cause fire or explosion when mixed with organic materials

Main Applications

Polymerization Initiator: Used as initiator for emulsion polymerization of acrylates, styrene, vinyl acetate, etc.
Bleaching Agent: Used for bleaching textiles, paper, oils, and in hair bleaches
Electronics Industry: Used as etching and cleaning agent for printed circuit boards

Oxidizing Hazards:

· Wash thoroughly after handling
Storage & Transportation:
· Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area
· Keep containers tightly closed and protected from moisture
· Store separately from reducing agents, combustibles, organic materials, and acids
· Protect packages from damage and moisture during transportation
Fire Fighting:
· Not combustible but enhances combustion of other materials
· Use water, foam, dry powder, or carbon dioxide for fire fighting
· Firefighters should wear self-contained breathing apparatus
