Basic Properties
Physical properties
Appearance：White or off-white fine powder
Relative density：1.74~1.90 g/cm³ (25℃)
pH value (10% suspension)：5.5~7.0 pH
Solubility：Low-polymer APP is soluble in water; high-polymer APP (Type II) is slightly soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol, benzene and common organic solvents. Solubility decreases as polymerization degree rises.
Hygroscopicity：Low-polymer grade is hygroscopic; high-polymer crystal type has low moisture absorption
Chemical properties
Flame retardant characteristic：Intumescent flame retardant. Under fire condition, forms dense carbonaceous barrier layer to isolate heat and oxygen, low smoke emission, halogen-free.
Hydrolysis：Slowly hydrolyzes in hot water or acidic environment, breaking long polyphosphate chains.
Compatibility：Good compatibility with many polymers, binders and fillers.

Safety Precautions
1. First Aid Measures (Based on water-solubility characteristics)
Inhalation: Move to fresh air and rest in a semi-upright position. Administer oxygen if breathing is difficult.
Skin Contact: Remove contaminated clothing; wash with soap and plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.
Eye Contact: Hold eyelids open and rinse with running water for at least 15 minutes.
Ingestion: Rinse mouth with water. Do not feed anything to an unconscious person.
2. Spill Handling (Prevent dust generation + Prevent water contamination)
Small Spills: Collect using a damp cloth or an explosion-proof industrial vacuum cleaner (HEPA H13) and place in a sealed container.
Large Spills: Dry sweeping is strictly prohibited (risk of dust generation). Contain using inert absorbent materials (e.g., vermiculite, diatomaceous earth) before collection.
Water Contamination Prevention: APP is highly water-soluble (> 90 g/100 mL); strictly prevent spills from entering sewers, surface water, or soil. Collected wastewater must undergo biochemical treatment to meet discharge standards to avoid nitrogen and phosphorus loading shocks to receiving waters.
3. Firefighting Measures
Extinguishing Media: Use media suitable for the surrounding environment (water spray, ABC dry powder, or carbon dioxide are all acceptable).
Hazardous Combustion Products: Thermal decomposition produces nitrogen oxides (NOx) and ammonia, which are irritating and toxic.
Firefighter Protection: Must wear positive-pressure self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and full protective gear.
