It is highly reactive and can form various polymers through homopolymerization or copolymerization. VAM is a key raw material for producing polyvinyl acetate (PVAc), polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) and ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymers, widely used in adhesives, coatings, textiles, paper and other fields.

    · Inhalation of vapor may cause respiratory irritation, headache, nausea
    · Skin contact may cause dermatitis and sensitization
    · Suspected carcinogen, may cause liver damage

    · Must be handled in explosion-proof fume hood
    · Wear chemical protective face shield, impermeable gloves and protective clothing
    · Use supplied air respirator
    · Avoid any contact with skin and eyes
    · Do not eat or smoke in work area

  3. Storage & Transportation:
    · Store in cool, well-ventilated, explosion-proof area, temperature not exceeding 30°C
    · Keep containers tightly closed, use nitrogen padding to prevent polymerization
    · Store separately from oxidizers, acids, bases
    · Use explosion-proof equipment and tools
    · Containers must be properly grounded to prevent static accumulation

  4. Fire Fighting:
    · Extremely flammable liquid, flash point -8°C, explosive limits 2.6-13.4%
    · Use foam, dry powder or CO2 to extinguish fire
    · Water may be ineffective but can be used to cool containers
    · Firefighters must wear self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective gear
