Basic Properties

High refractive index: This is the foundation of titanium dioxide as a top-tier white pigment. It strongly scatters and refracts light, thus providing excellent hiding power and whiteness.

Rutile crystal structure: More stable than anatase, with a higher refractive index, higher hardness, and better weather resistance (anti-chalking, anti-yellowing).

Surface treatment: Coating treatment greatly improves the product's:

  • Dispersibility: Easier to disperse evenly in solvents or resins, reducing energy consumption and time.

  • Lightfastness & weather resistance: By encapsulating the crystals, photocatalytic activity is reduced, preventing the coating from chalking, losing gloss, or discoloring due to UV exposure.

  • Chemical stability: Improved resistance to acids, alkalis, and other chemicals.

1. Coatings Industry (Main Market)

  • Architectural Coatings: Interior and exterior wall latex paints, providing durable whiteness, hiding power, and weather resistance.

Safety Precautions

Operational Precautions:

Enclosure: Utilize enclosed feeding systems whenever possible (e.g., bulk bag unloading stations, vacuum feeders) to avoid dust generation from manual dumping.

Personal Protection: Operators must wear standard-compliant dust masks (e.g., N95 or higher), safety goggles, and anti-static workwear.

Anti-Static: All equipment must be grounded to eliminate static buildup and prevent static sparks.

Cleaning: Use explosion-proof vacuum cleaners to remove spilled powder. Compressed air blowing is strictly prohibited, as it may form explosive dust clouds.


Storage Precautions:

Environment: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse.

Isolation: Keep away from ignition sources, heat sources, sparks, and flammable materials.

Packaging: Keep containers tightly sealed to prevent moisture ingress and packaging damage.
