It appears as a colorless transparent liquid with a pleasant, banana-like fruity odor. It features a favorable evaporation rate, excellent solvency power, and a relatively higher flash point, making it outstanding in dissolving nitrocellulose and various synthetic resins. Its evaporation rate falls between that of ethyl acetate and butyl acetate. It is a widely used environmentally friendly solvent in coatings, inks, adhesives, and other industries.
