  1. Primary Feedstock:

    • >95% for phthalic anhydride (PA) → Plasticizers (DOP), alkyd resins

    • PA further synthesizes polyester resins, dye intermediates

  2. Solvent Applications:

    • High-temperature reaction solvent

    • Thinner for specialty coatings/inks (low-volatility required)

  3. Others:

    • Intermediate for pesticides

    • Reference standard in gas chromatography
