· Solubility: Slightly soluble in cold water, freely soluble in hot water, ethanol, ether, acetone.
· Sublimation: Begins to sublime at 76°C.
Chemical Properties:
· Contains both carboxylic acid and phenolic hydroxyl groups, exhibiting weak acidity.
· Forms violet color with ferric chloride (characteristic of phenolic hydroxyl group).
· Can undergo esterification, acylation, and other reactions.
